For a long time, a sure sign that someone didn’t know what a good beer is would be the fact that they were drinking it from a can. In fact, for many of us, watching someone drink beer from a can gave us the uneasy feeling that at any moment, they were going to smash it on their forehead and then turn around and do a “keg stand”. That has certainly changed; some of the finest beers around are now available in a can, and that’s convenient, now that summer is here. Whether on the patio, by the pool, or golfing, beer in a can is a fantastic convenience. It’s easier and safer to stash in a backpack or duffle, it won’t tip over as easily poolside, and if it does it won’t shatter, and when you’re done with your fun, the can will easily crunch down for easier toting as a returnable or recyclable. India Pale Ale |
In the 1700s one crafty brewer discovered that a healthy dose of hops and an increased alcohol content preserved his ales during the long voyage to India (as depicted in our label) to quench the thirst of British troops. Today, we tip our hat to that historic innovation by brewing Colorado’s hoppiest pale ale. Avery IPA demands to be poured into your favorite glass to truly appreciate the citrusy, floral bouquet and the rich, malty finish. Food pairing: Seafood dishes such as Ahi tuna or seared scallops are a great match, as are creamy pasta dishes like fettucini alfredo or pasta carbonara. Ellie’s Brown Ale |
This beautiful, deep russet brew has the sweet and somewhat nutty character of Adam Avery’s late (1992-2002) Chocolate Lab, for which it is named. Crystal and chocolate malts give this beer a brown sugar maltiness with hints of vanilla and nuts, while subtle hopping gives it an overall drinkability that’s second to none, just like Ellie!
