Mas Alta Black Slate Priorat
2010 Mas Alta
Black Slate Priorat

Robert Parker gave this wine a 94, saying "When’s the last time anyone found a Priorat rated over 90 points for under $25 a bottle? A project of acclaimed Rhone Valley winemakers Philippe Cambie and Michel Tardieu from one of Priorat’s nine villages, La Vilella Alta, the 2010 Black Slate was fashioned from 60% Garnacha, 35% Carignan and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, aged 12 months in French oak, and bottled unfined and unfiltered. Notes of graphite, blueberry liqueur, raspberries, crushed rocks and spring flowers jump from the glass of this inky/purple-colored wine. It possesses fabulous intensity, a multidimensional mouthfeel, supple tannins and a long finish. The natural alcohol pushes 16%, and there are 1,000 cases exported to the United States. It should keep for 5-10+ years. Priorat wines such as this normally sell for over $100 a bottle."

A little young now, but this is an exceptional wine that will be even better for years to come. This wine is a steal at under $25.00

Joleté Pinot Noir 2008
Joleté Pinot Noir 2008

From the Producer: The original Joleté bottling, released in 2010. This small production cuvée is blended from Willamette Valley vineyards to express the land and the exceptional 2008 Oregon vintage. Many consider 2008 to be among the finest years of the Willamette Valley and the 2008 Joleté is an excellent example of this dense and distinct vintage. Its deep, rich garnet color is accompanied by a nose of black cherry and ripened raspberry, followed by hints of dried bay leaf and rose petal. It enters the palate with cinnamon spice and a pronounced note of ripe strawberries. Mid-palate the red fruit is complemented by darker tones of blackberry and boysenberry jam, finishing with hints of tobacco, clove, and the distinctly concentrated berries that characterize the 2008 vintage.

L'oiseliniere Muscadet
Sevre et Main 2009
Vinification is carried out using only traditional methods at Château de L’Oiselinière, thus preserving the full potential of the grapes. Wines are fermented in concrete temperature-controlled vats using native yeasts and then aged over winter on their lees. This type of maturation is specific to the Muscadet region and generally results in a purer, more aromatic and intensely complex wine of some depth that demonstrates slight sparkling characteristics. Mineral, citrus, with floral and herbal hints that add up to more entertainment than white wines of this ilk can usually offer.
