Help Restore the Legendary Beer Depot Sign

If you live in Ann Arbor, you may have noticed the conspicuous absence of the historic Beer Depot neon sign near the corner of Main and William streets. You also may be familiar with the story of how it blew down in April 2011, and the Beer Depot’s costly struggle first to get permission to restore the sign, and then to actually pay for the project. Well, as they reached the homestretch, they hit ANOTHER snag, when the insurance company refused to pay on the policy. The Beer Depot took them to court and won, but after legal and administrative expenses, they received considerably less than expected. As a result, they’re reaching out for a little support.
